What is a RuleSet?

Because there are a lot of different gaming systems around the world, we need a way to store informations about how army can certain game system. RuleSet is a piece of data that contains list of units available in certain game system and possible upgrades that can be applied to this units(in a form of a tree). It also contain information about how to change created army into a PDF file and a set of rules that can be used to validate your army.

You can share Your RuleSets with friends but You can also make one on your own. For information about how to create your own RuleSet see 'Creating Rulesets'.

Why should I use ArmyCalc and/or ace? Why are they better then other army editors?

Because both ArmyCalc and ace uses open "*.twr" file format. This means that if you are making a Ruleset You do not work for any company. Results of Your work is owned only by You. This also means that anyone can implement their own army editor that uses this standard. You would like to do a mobile editor to calculate points with Your cell phone? No problem.

This is of course only one advantage of ace. Furhermore does anything else give you a possibility to create armies online and offline? using the same format?

What is the status of the projects?
